Do You Remember?

Do You Remember?

Many times I’ve watched
Many times I’ve cried
Many times I’ve turned the wheel that brings the seasons nigh
Many times I’ve sown new seeds upon the blowing winds
As the seasons changed, you learned how to forget

Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember when I was?

From me sprang forth all life, transformed and born anew
Through Me the moon burns bright, Sun dries the morning dew
From Me came quenching rains, the oceans mystery
All life comes to an end, a cycle to repeat

Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember when I was?

There was a time so long ago when God was not a He
All acts of love and pleasure were My rituals to keep
Then priests they came, built churches tall, filled deep with guilt and shame
Do you remember when I was? I’m known by many names!

Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember when I was?

And with a mothers love, I taught you to survive
And with a mothers love, I watched while cast aside
And watching silently – My presence you forgot
Patriarchy subrogates, the truth an after thought

Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember?
Do you remember? I am She
